Questions, Answered Plainly

Real answers to the fourteen questions that come up most at the counter and on the phone. Anything not here, call us — (716) 260-1539.

Section 01 · Before you come in

The basics

Do I need to bring ID?

Yes, every visit. We check a valid, unexpired government-issued photo ID at the door regardless of how old you look — it isn't a judgement call, it's the licence.

Do I have to be 21 to shop here?

Yes. New York adult-use cannabis is 21 and over, with no exceptions — the age gate on this site works the same way it does at the door.

What are your hours?

Monday through Saturday, 10am to 10pm.

Are you open on Sundays?

Yes — 10am to 7pm, shorter than the rest of the week but open every Sunday.

Ask us anything — we were there for it.

Section 02 · Getting here

Ordering, delivery and parking

Can I reserve or order ahead online?

Yes. Build your order on the live menu, then come in with ID to pay and pick it up. There is no delivery — it's pickup only, in the shop.

Do you deliver?

No. Aroma is pickup only, in the shop at 978 Payne Ave. Reserve on the live menu and come collect it yourself.

Is there parking?

Yes — parking out front on Payne Ave.

Section 03 · The licence

What is a microbusiness dispensary?

New York's licence for a small, local operator to grow, process and sell its own cannabis at one retail location, instead of buying finished goods from separate farms, processors and distributors. Aroma holds licence OCM-MICR-24-000207.

What it covers
Cultivating, processing, distributing and selling cannabis grown under the same licence, at a single storefront — ours, at 978 Payne Ave.
What it limits
One store, deliberately small. No second location, no franchise, no head office anywhere else.
Why it matters here
Aroma is a microbusiness first — it's the reason "we grow it, we sell it" is on the sign instead of just a slogan.
Do you actually grow what you sell?

Some of it. Aroma grew out of Morris Hemp LLC, a 2019 New York State Hemp Pilot Program company, through two years of outdoor cannabis before becoming a microbusiness on September 8, 2025. When a jar or bag on our shelf says Aroma, we grew it — when in stock. We don't claim every product in the shop is ours; the brands we're proud to feature are on the shop page.

Section 04 · At the register

Taxes and payment

Are taxes included in the price on the tag?

Yes. The number on the tag is the number you pay — New York cannabis tax is already built into every shelf price, so nothing gets added at the register.

How do I pay — cash or card?

Cash, debit, CanPay and Aeropay. There’s an ATM inside if you need it.

Section 05 · Walking in for the first time

I've never been to a dispensary before

Completely fine, and more common than you'd think. Takes about four minutes and nobody is going to rush you.

  • Bring valid, unexpired photo ID — 21+, checked every visit.
  • Tell staff it's your first time and they'll start from the beginning: the forms, how to read the label, what "start low, go slow" means.
  • Ask anything, including the questions you think are obvious. We grew this stuff — there isn't much we mind explaining.
  • Friendly guidance, not medical advice: we can explain what a product is and how it's used, and we won't pretend otherwise.

Section 06 · The standard

Is everything you sell lab-tested?

Every legal cannabis product in New York moves under an OCM licence, gets lab-tested, and carries a label tying it to that specific batch — including everything in our cases. That's the state's rule, not a marketing line.

Batch check

01
Total THC & CBD

Printed on the label, per pack and per serving.

02
Batch number

Ties the product to a specific harvest and lab test.

03
Testing lab

Named on the label. Ask and we'll pull it up.

Section 07 · Stay in the loop

How do I join the email or text list?

Use the Join the List button below — it's run on Alpine IQ and takes about a minute. Occasional updates on what's new; no prices or deals posted here on the site.

One more, in plain terms

"Grown by Aroma" means exactly that

When a jar or bag on our shelf carries the Aroma name, it was cultivated and cured under our own microbusiness licence — not bought finished from a supplier. It's a real example from our own cases, not a standing promise: a harvest sells through, a new one cures, and the live menu is the accurate count of what's there today.

Still not sure?

Call the shop. A person picks up, and it's usually the person who grew it.
