We Grow It. We Sell It.

Aroma Cannabis started as a hemp company in 2019, spent two years growing cannabis outdoors, and opened as a licensed New York microbusiness on Payne Ave on 8 September 2025. One licence, one address, the same people the whole way through. It’s in the air.

Since 2019

Seven years with the plant, one year behind the counter

Jeff Morris didn’t open a dispensary and go looking for a supplier. Morris Hemp LLC was the original company, formed in 2019 as a CBD business under the New York State Hemp Pilot Program. Three years of hemp, then two years growing cannabis outdoors, then the transition into a licensed microbusiness with Aroma on 8 September 2025. The shop is what all of that turned into.

Stage by stage

Seed to shelf, in five stops

Five stops from a hemp pilot program to the counter you can walk into today — in the order Jeff lived them.

  • Stage 01

    2019 — Morris Hemp LLC

Jeff forms Morris Hemp LLC and enters the New York State Hemp Pilot Program as a CBD company, on paper, from day one.

  • Stage 02

Three years of hemp, from 2019

Three seasons of hemp: the growing, the drying, and learning what New York expects from a licence holder.

  • Stage 03

    Two seasons growing outdoors

The crop changes. Two seasons growing cannabis outdoors in Western New York — full sun, real dirt, one harvest a year.

  • Stage 04

    8 Sep 2025 — Aroma opens

Morris Hemp transitions into a New York cannabis microbusiness. The doors open at 978 Payne Ave, North Tonawanda.

  • Stage 05

    8 Sep 2026 — Year one

One year on Payne Ave, seven years in New York cannabis. Still one licence, still one store, still the same people behind the case.

We grow it. We sell it. It’s in the air.

Inside

It’s one room, and it’s a nice one

No queue system, no wall of screens, no upsell script. One case, one counter, and somebody who’ll actually talk to you about what’s in it. Jeff’s three words for this place were personable, knowledgeable, fun — in that order.

The green leaf logo is on the floor mat by the door, on the window, and on the jars behind the counter. It’s the same mark everywhere, because it’s one shop.

978 Payne Ave, North Tonawanda

One address. No second location.

Describe the business in three words

Personable. Knowledgeable. Fun.

Jeff’s own three words, in the order he gave them. Not a slogan somebody wrote for the wall — the actual answer to the question.

In Jeff's own words

What the three words actually mean

Personable

You get a conversation, not a transaction. New to this? Say so — nobody here will make it weird.

Knowledgeable

Seven years with the plant, including the growing years. Ask about the licence, the room, or what’s on the shelf this week — you’ll get a straight answer.

Fun

“Great vibes” is the thing people say about this place most. Bring the dog.

A microbusiness is the small licence that does every job.

What it covers
New York created the microbusiness licence for small, local operators who handle multiple stages themselves — growing, processing and selling — rather than buying finished product from other companies. In practice, the plant and the counter belong to the same people.
What it limits
It’s deliberately small. A microbusiness runs one retail location — 978 Payne Ave — and stays capped at a scale one operator can actually stand behind. There is no second store and no head office anywhere else.
Why it matters to you
Fewer companies between the crop and the case means the person answering your question about a jar has a real answer. Ask us anything — we were there for it.

Stage 03 — Cure & jar

We grow what we sell

Aroma’s own jars come out of the same run the licence is built for: Cherry Pie, Funk Juice, White Widow, Ocean Fruit, Tropicana, Cookies & Cream, Nana Glue — when in stock. Bags of Blue Dream, Clementine and Grand Daddy Purple carry the same label.

Other names you’ll see in the cases — from Bison Botanics and Native Nations Cannabis to whatever else has come through that week — are seen in the cases, not promised. The live menu is the only accurate count.

What makes it a microbusiness

Four facts, not a marketing line

  • Grown, jarred and sold under one New York licence, not five separate companies.
  • One retail location — 978 Payne Ave, North Tonawanda — and nowhere else.
  • No franchise, no multi-state operator, no head office in another state.
  • Licence number OCM-MICR-24-000207, posted in the footer of every page on this site.

Who you'll meet

Jeff, behind his own counter

Jeff Morris owns Aroma Cannabis and gives final approval on everything the shop does, this website included. Keith Greene took most of the photographs on this site — the counter, the cases, the lounge corner.

The rest of the crew you’ll meet at the counter. We’re not going to invent titles for anyone who hasn’t sent us their name.

North Tonawanda first

A Payne Ave business before we're anything else

Aroma isn’t a location on an expansion map. It’s one shop on one street in North Tonawanda, serving the Tonawandas and the Buffalo area — one licence, one address, no head office anywhere else.

North Tonawanda

Home. 978 Payne Ave, 14120 — the only Aroma there is.

Tonawanda

The other twin city, a short drive over.

Buffalo

Worth the drive, by Jeff’s own account of where customers come from.
